Privacy Policy

Big Red Communications, LLC
4875 SW 112th St, Denton, NE 68339
Effective September 22, 2026

We are a local internet provider owned and operated in Nebraska. We keep the information we need to sell you service, install it, bill you for it, and fix it when it breaks — and not much else. This policy explains what that means in specific terms.

The short version: we do not log the websites you visit. We do not log your DNS lookups. We do not inspect the contents of your traffic. We do not record phone calls. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we never have.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Name, service address, mailing address, phone number, and email address
  • Billing information and payment history
  • Notes from your service requests, support calls, and email correspondence
  • Voicemail messages you leave us
  • Details of your property relevant to installation — roof or mast location, line of sight to our towers, obstructions, and where the cable enters the building

Information created by providing service

  • The identifiers of the equipment serving you, including the radio and router we installed
  • The IP address assigned to your connection and when it was assigned
  • How much data your connection has carried, in aggregate — total volume over time, not what it contained
  • Signal quality, latency, and performance measurements for your radio, used to detect problems and to know when a sector needs more capacity

Information collected on this website

Our website uses Google Tag Manager, which may set cookies and collect standard web analytics such as pages viewed, approximate location, referring site, and browser type. Information you type into our contact form is sent to us by email. Bill payments made through the website are processed by PayPal on PayPal's own systems.

What we do not collect

We want to be specific here, because these are the things customers most often assume an internet provider knows about them.

  • Browsing history. We do not keep any record of the websites or services you connect to.
  • DNS queries. We do not log the domain names your devices look up.
  • The contents of your traffic. We do not perform deep packet inspection. Our traffic management is application-agnostic, as described in our Network Management Practices.
  • Phone calls. We do not record calls to our office. Voicemail messages are retained, because we need them to return your call.
  • Payment card numbers. Card and bank details are handled by our payment processors. We see enough to identify a payment method, not the full details.

How we use what we collect

  • To install, maintain, and repair your service
  • To bill you and collect payment
  • To answer your questions and respond to service problems
  • To plan capacity — knowing which sectors are filling up is how we decide where to build next
  • To send you service notices, such as planned maintenance or an outage in your area
  • To meet legal, regulatory, and reporting obligations, including federal broadband availability reporting

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We use the following service providers to run the business, and they receive only what they need to perform their function:

  • Our billing and account management platform — holds customer account records, billing history, and the customer portal
  • Our payment processors — handle online and recurring payments
  • Our email and messaging providers — carry company correspondence and automated account and service notices
  • Our telephone service provider — carries calls to and from our office and stores voicemail
  • Our website analytics provider — measures how this website is used
  • Our coverage mapping provider — runs the availability lookup on this website

Each receives only the information it needs for that function, and none of them is permitted to use it for their own purposes. If you want to know which companies these are, ask us and we will tell you.

We may also disclose information when we are legally required to — in response to a subpoena, court order, or other lawful process, or where necessary to protect our network, our staff, or the safety of others. Because we do not keep browsing or DNS records, those records do not exist for us to produce.

If our business is sold or merged, customer account information would transfer to the acquiring company as part of that transaction. Any acquirer would be bound by the commitments in this policy for information collected under it.

How long we keep it

Account, billing, and service records are retained in our billing system for as long as you are a customer and afterward for as long as we need them for billing, tax, warranty, and legal purposes. Usage volume and performance data is retained on our systems for capacity planning. We do not currently apply a fixed deletion schedule to these records; if you want to know what we hold about you, ask and we will tell you.

How we protect it

Access to customer records is limited to employees who need it to do their jobs. Credentials for our systems are managed in a password manager with multi-factor authentication where the system supports it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise — but we do not hold the categories of data that make a breach most damaging, because we do not collect browsing activity and do not store full payment credentials.

Your choices

Nebraska's Data Privacy Act gives Nebraska residents rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal data, and certain automated profiling. As a small business under the federal Small Business Act, Big Red Communications is largely exempt from that law — but we would rather honor the substance of it than hide behind the exemption. If you want to see what we hold about you, correct something that is wrong, or have information deleted where we are not required to keep it, contact us and we will respond within 45 days.

You can opt out of website analytics using your browser's tracking protection or an ad blocker; nothing on our site requires those cookies to work.

Minors

Our service is sold to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone 17 or under, and we do not market to minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and post the revised version here. If a change materially affects how we handle customer information, we will notify account holders by email.
